Pets have different worms like Roundworms, Hookworms, Tapeworms, whipworms, heartworms, or other parasites like Toxoplasma, Coccidia, Giardia etc. We recommend regular deworming, especially in puppies & kittens, even to reduce the risk of transmission to human. More than 15,000,000 people in US are infected annually with Roundworms from dogs and cats and about 1500 or more children lose their vision as a result of this parasites’ larval migration in their eyes. Many puppies get roundworms from their mothers. The Hookworms also cause larval migration in people.
We highly recommend to regularly check all pets for fecal (fresh sample) examination and medicate appropriately.
Tapeworms are small white segment like rice around pet’s anus area (scooting) or on its feces. Pets get them by eating fleas.The best way to prevent is the year-around flea-control on pets and their environment.
Giardia is a small parasite common in dogs or cats and causes gas in bowels, diarrhea or loose feces containing mucous and even blood.
