Dental Care
Pets need routine professional and home dental care. Gums or teeth infection causes bad breath, loosening of teeth and then they fall off.
Usually it starts with plaque with trapped food debris and bacteria leading to inflammation, infection of the gums, teeth and the jaw bone. The bacteria damage liver, kidneys, heart valves, and cause heart & respiratory diseases. Early detection through regular physical examination and professional cleaning every 6 to 12 months under anesthesia are the keys to a good preventive program.
Ideally dental care should start when your pet is puppy or kitten by dental brushing with flavored pastes. This will not only make you feel happy but will improve your pet’s health, longevity and happiness.
We at Garfield Animal Hospital have dental kits, mouth rinse and Oravet to help your pet at home. Please call us if you have any question at 562-630-2082 or make an appointment for your pet for examination.
